Last week I attended my kids orchestra concert and was met with a table set up at the school by a mom who lost her child Alyssa to leukemia in 2014. From this heartbreaking experience of this painful event, she started an organization called Alyssa Alvin Foundation for Hope. According to Yoli Alvin, Alyssa’s mom and President of this Foundation “It’s an organization that offers opportunities to teens and young adults to explore the arts while undergoing treatment for cancer and other life threatening disease.” Her foundation gives teens and young adults an outlet in the arts during this challenging time in their lives. If you believe strongly in the importance of the arts, I encourage all of you to look up her foundation and find a way to help support this inspiring foundation. I plan on supporting the Alyssa Alvin Foundation any way I can. Go to www.AlyssaAlvinFoundationforHope.org .
As for the The Wish, a few exciting things to report on…I received an email from The Author’s Show for an interview. I will be interviewed on Thursday, April 7 and the interview will be aired at a later date. I’ll be sure to let you know when that will be. Also, I have secured my spot at BEA/BookCon for May. That will be a 4 day convention with the first 3 day being for industry only. Then on the 4th day, Saturday, May 14, it opens to the public. The convention looks to be a truly fun time, and if any one of you get the chance, I’d love to see you there! Also, I just finished my first round of edits for book number two and have returned to working on book number three.
Thank you so much for visiting me this week and I hope to see you back next week.
til next week…
