These are a few of my favorite things…

Hi All,
With the visit of an unwanted virus a couple of weeks ago, I fell behind with Christmas shopping, which pushed my blog back by a day or two this week. As I sit with a crackling fire, I thought of an appropriate blog for Christmas day, and that is to share a few of my favorite things.
Favorite Pizza: Charlie Fox here in Geneva. It’s the BEST pizza, especially the double dough!
Favorite Christmas Movie: It’s a Wonderful Life
Favorite Movie: Meet the Robinsons
Favorite thing to do in my free time: (when not writing)- Sitting down with a good book, cup of coffee and a fire.
Favorite color: Orange
Favorite gifts I got for Christmas this year: All my gifts were thoughtful, but my favorites are like the one I got from my eight year old daughter Eliana. She made me a card telling me what she was thankful for. I LOVE anything made from my kids-those are the most special!
Favorite thing I love that everyone else (except my family)hates; SNOWSTORMS!! Love the snow! I think I would take snow year round with maybe 1 month of no snow and temps in the low 70’s!

Something I believe in with all my heart is “paying it forward”, meaning, give something to those who have either enhanced my life or had some sort of positive impact on me or others. Today, I’d like to name a couple of artists for you to visit. I’m hoping you will take the time to visit the links I’ve provided below.
First is David Kellen at Studio K in North Aurora. He is my kids piano teacher. He’s an incredible teacher as well as an accomplished musician. He has several CD’s you can buy that are all wonderful. Go to www.studiokmusic.com
The second is a Middle Grade Fantasy called The Ninja Librarians by Jen Swann Downey. I read the preview and it sounds AWESOME. The website is www.jenswanndowney.com.
Finally, I’d like to share something from our family to you. I’m hoping you will enjoy a little bit of Christmas music from my kids to you. They started a garage band called Summer Monkeys and this was their first performance in front of a live audience. If you go to youtube and type in “carol of the bells by summer monkeys”, they should pop up.
I hope you enjoy the sites I’ve shared.
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and healthy New Year.
’til next week…
Yvonne
